The Sheriff’s deputy had been helping the fugitive squad, which was tracking down a man wanted for forfeiting his bond with a court case, as well as on an arrest warrant from another town. The man has since been arrested.
The deputy struck his head on the ground and was in critical condition before later being upgraded to stable. He was bleeding profusely at the scene but the injury was not considered life-threatening.
It has also since been learned that the Sheriff’s deputy suffered a severe concussion, lost vision in his left eye and had to have his scalp reattached through plastic surgery.
